Why choose Maverick Danes?
Is the Waiting List free?
The waiting list is free. It is a way for me to hold your place in line. Occasionally, I will email the applicants to see if they are still interested, if I do not receive a response within 72 hours, your request will be deleted.
How does the Waiting List work?
After puppies are born, I will list them on the Available Puppies. Start mentally making your picks ahead of time! They will be assigned a colored collar, have a picture, description, and price listed. I will make announcements on Facebook and email a day or 2 before the selection process begins. When the time comes, I will contact my waiting list applicants (by phone or email) in the order that I received their requests. You need to choose a puppy as soon as I contact you so the next person in line can choose! If you choose a puppy, you will be listed as the pending owner so the next applicant knows that puppy is no longer available.
When are the $500 deposits due?
I will not take deposits until the puppies reach at least 2-3 weeks old. This is so the vet and I have a chance to evaluate the puppy and make sure he/she is healthy and thriving. Deposits are non-refundable unless your puppy is deemed unhealthy by myself or a vet.
Why are your puppies more expensive than other breeders?
Sometimes, you get what you pay for. Anyone can take 2 dogs, throw them in the backyard, hope for the best and sell them for cheap. My AKC pedigrees speak for themselves. My breeding Danes are specifically chosen based on genetics and undergo health testing before they are allowed to produce offspring. My Danes are all kept inside, fed quality food, have routine vet care. My females receive prenatal and post-natal care. Each puppy is raised indoors in our living room and socialized. Puppies are supplemented with formula so that they reach full potential and our moms do not feel undue stress.
I feel like I am the "middle ground." I try to produce healthy, affordable, sound Great Danes. Show kennels charge much more per puppy (and they should for the work that they do!) Backyard breeders charge less because they can afford to do so. They are not concerned with the long-term health of the puppies or the parents.
- Each price includes: a healthy puppy, AKC registration, dew claw removal, dewormings, vaccines, microchip insertion, vet examination, socialization, and Lifetime breeder support
- Live web camera so you can watch your puppy grow.
- References: Go to the "References" tab and see what other people are saying about us, or visit our Facebook page.
- Family Reunions: We reunions with the parents, the puppies, adopters, and us. On our Facebook page many of our puppy owners will start and "play date" at a dog park and the next thing you know, we have 20 members show up! What a great way to see a pack of Great Danes! So far, most of them have been in North Carolina, but who is to say we you can't plan one near you!
